Health Screening

About the Health Screening Scheme
Health screening is one benefit that is currently increasing in popularity among employers. This option is eligible for both tax and NI savings when employers purchase health screening and offer it to employees through a salary sacrifice arrangement. The Scheme enables employers to give their employees the opportunity to benefit from a choice of comprehensive health screenings at a significantly reduced cost.

Its rise in popularity may be due, in part, to the current high levels of awareness around employee health and wellbeing. Employers may find that they benefit from a reduction in long-term absence levels if problems are caught at an earlier stage.

Benefits
Employees can save up to 41% on the cost of health screening assessments, keep fit and healthy and have peace of mind. The company saves the Employer National Insurance Contributions on the cost of the screening.
Business benefits, such as a healthier workforce, increased employee productivity and reduced absenteeism are also key elements of this Scheme.

How the Health Screening Scheme Works

  • The Company pays for the cost of the Health Screening

  • The cost is recovered from the employee via a deduction from their gross pay (Salary Sacrifice) over 6 or 12 months

  • Employers can have the option of subsidising the cost if they wish
