About the Save as you Learn Scheme
Employers can also offer work-related training through a salary sacrifice arrangement. There are restrictions - In order to qualify for the tax exemption the training must be linked to an employee's role within an organisation or a role they could potentially have in the future.
Benefits
-
Employees can save up to 41% on their learning package and spread the cost
- The company saves the Employer National Insurance Contributions on the cost of the learning packing
- Businesses benefit from their employees ongoing development and additional skill
How the Save as you Learn Scheme Works
-
The Company pays for the relevant course/tutoring
-
The cost is recovered from the employee via a deduction from their gross pay (Salary Sacrifice) over 12 months or the length of the course
-
This provides the employee with a Tax efficient method for paying for learning and spreads the cost
-
Employers can have the option of subsidising the cost if they wish
